Most expatriates in the UAE have signed a contract which either entitles them to a paid company housing or a package that includes a housing allowance. Some expats directly hired abroad are initially accommodated in a hotel or a serviced apartment until they are able to arrange for their own accommodation.
A serviced apartment is one of the best examples of a short-term rental accommodation available in the country. It is typically a home away from home. Its free and open spaces, luxurious and vibrant furnishings, and furniture and fittings all resonate a homey feeling.
By far, one of the biggest advantages of staying in a serviced apartment is the convenience of opting for a flexible and short-term rental arrangement. There are no contracts that need to be signed and no required documentation or paperwork to be submitted. Accommodation arrangements can be made on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis, and can be terminated at one’s own convenience.
The space available in a serviced apartment is always much larger than a regular hotel room and it comes fully equipped with all modern household equipment. These include conveniences such as a washing machine, a microwave, a dishwasher and other accessories needed especially in the kitchen. The completely equipped kitchen automatically means that there is no need to eat out, and with a few basic groceries, simple meals can be rustled up quickly. So, there is no need to spend extra and waste time buying the best brands for the home – the apartment is ready and set for you to move in.
Serviced apartments offer cleaning services which can be availed of by all the occupants. Staff is available to groom the apartment on a daily basis. Laundry services are also available if needed. These conveniences are never available in a regular apartment.
Moreover, additional facilities are available such as broadband Internet access, business centre facilities, meeting rooms and indoor sporting and fitness facilities. These make it possible for anyone to combine business with pleasure.
• Serviced apartments offer the flexibility of a short-term rental arrangement
• They often come with modern laundry and kitchen equipment, and Internet
• Cheaper and offering most hotel services, they are more preferred by many
