Dubai: Completion of the three theme parks and the many additional attractions at Dubai Parks and Resorts by October 2016 does not mean the company’s work is necessarily over.
“By the opening date, we would have only used up half of the capacity at some of the installed parks — whether to add to these would have taken once the demand patterns are clear post the launch,” said Raed Al Nuaimi, CEO. “Or we could take a decision to develop new theme parks, but all will depend on the traffic generated by the original attractions.
“Our projections suggest there’s always room for more.”
In the first full year of operations, the destination expects to take in 6.7 million ticketed visits.
“With some of the announced attractions, we are looking to cover all possible bases — for instance, live action/shows at one of the offerings could mean we are able to attract more teenage girls.
“And with an attraction such as the Bollywood part, you are looking at endless possibilities, not just the committed fans of Hindi movies, but those who wish to take in what Bollywood fantasy world is about. Then it cuts across all demographics and geographies.”
