To maintain its reputation as one of the fastest growing countries in the world, the UAE has laid the foundation for many unique commercial projects which have already created a sensation in the global arena.
Dubai has always been a forerunner in stellar projects. The Dubai Canal project aims to extend the Dubai Creek by three kilometres towards the Arabian Gulf, passing by Business Bay, Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah. Once complete, it will feature retail shops, hotels and residences. There is also the Dubai Opera District and Dubai Design District within the vicinity.Another project set to take the city by storm is the Jewel of the Creek located in the heartland of Deira. The mixed-use development will have four and five-star hotels, office buildings, a ballroom, convention centre, marina and serviced apartments. Another mixed-use development is Al Habtoor City on Shaikh Zayed Road which will feature hotels and residences. Just across the Jumeirah Beach Residence, the Bluewaters Island is currently taking shape. Upon completion, it will have a retail souk, food outlets, entertainment zone and party hall with Dubai Eye, set to be the world’s tallest Ferris wheel, as the main attraction.
In Abu Dhabi, the most happening development is taking shape on Al Maryah Island in the form of Al Maryah Central. This mall will house the flagship stores of Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, restaurants and cafes, and two recreational areas.
The city of Al Ain is all set to bring the African desert safari experience to the UAE with its ambitious World Desert Oasis project. Visitors can get close to nature with the botanical garden, zoo and aquarium.
Keeping in touch with its glorious past, Sharjah has embarked on the Heart of Sharjah. It will feature commercial, residential and cultural projects that include a hotel, markets, restaurants, museums, offices and galleries, among others, all set in the 1950s but with a modern twist.
