Retailers in the UAE now have more options to showcase their brands to shoppers with the numerous retail venues being developed across the country.

In Abu Dhabi, residents and visitors can expect a new high-end shopping mall in 2018 when Al Maryah Central opens on Al Maryah Island. It will not only offer retail space, but also space where businesses in the sports and entertainment fields can either expand or start operations. Another mall with a 2018 opening date is Reem Mall to be located on Reem Island. There are also plans of building the District Mall on Saadiyat Island.

In nearby Dubai, super regional malls are certainly addresses of choice and that is where all the retailers want to be. Aside from Mall of the World, new shopping venues currently under construction include Nakheel Mall with a leasing area of 300,000 square metres plus a five-star hotel, and waterfront retail, dining and entertainment complex The Pointe. There has also been an influx of small neighbourhood shopping and dining destinations in Dubai. Found on Al Wasl Road are wasl square, City Walk, wasl vita and The Galleria. The emirate plans to launch 20 more new malls in the next five years. One of the currently under-construction community malls in the city is My City Centre Al Barsha next to Villa Lantana.

In Sharjah, the latest addition to the bustling residential neighbourhood of Nasseriya is My City Centre.

In the neighbouring Ajman, there are five retail projects under the CityLife brand, two of which have already been finished.

In Ras Al Khaimah, the famous Manar Mall is currently undergoing expansion to accommodate more retailers. It is scheduled to be completed before the end of 2016.

With many new retail venues coming up everywhere, retailers will have plenty of choices where they can open their business.
