A waterfront dining, retail and leisure destination set to rival popular and trendy haunts The Walk and The Beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and Marina Walk at Dubai Marina is currently in the pipeline.
The Boardwalk will be constructed on Palm Jumeirah and will cover the entire stretch of the man-made island's 11-kilometre crescent.
It will join the emirate's growing roster of go-to places for residents, tourists and visitors to relax, dine and unwind.
The project will feature a hodge-podge of dining establishments offering a wide variety of cuisines. The food outlets will be housed in glass structures that will allow customers to bask in the magnificent views of the sea, the waterfront landscape and the changing Dubai skyline while sipping a cup of coffee, or enjoying a sumptuous dinner. It will also be lined with stores selling beverages and retail shops carrying knickknacks and souvenir items.
The Boardwalk is designed to become another Palm Jumeirah must-see that is expected to draw a vast number of people especially during the winter months. Like the Dubai Marina community hangouts, visitors here will have enough reason to take a stroll, people watch, or shut out the world, if only for a little while – all this in a dynamic and modern waterfront setting.
The development will have two piers on both ends and will just be a stone's throw away from several luxurious hotels and resorts in the area. The Dh150-million beachfront leisure spot is expected to be finished in the middle of next year.
Palm Jumeirah is the address of crowd-puller Atlantis The Palm and several other renowned hotels. It is also a favourite destination for luxury home investors. Under-construction developments in the area include retail zones and housing projects.
