A St Regis-branded beach club and an Aloft hotel are among the new attractions under way on the Palm Jumeirah. Nakheel recently confirmed agreements with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for both properties.
The 192-room Aloft Dubai, The Palm is scheduled to open next year. It will be the brand’s first resort in the Middle East and will be the first mid-market hotel on the island.
“The UAE remains our strongest growth market in the Middle East, and this deal reinforces the demand for mid-market hotel in the region,” said Michael Wale, President of Starwood Hotels and Hotels Europe, Africa and Middle East.
Featuring an urban-influenced design, Aloft Dubai, The Palm will have 10 suites, with plush platform beds, large walk-in showers and complimentary Bliss amenities. The hotel will have direct beach access.
The St. Regis Beach Club, on the other hand, will be part of Nakheel’s Palm West Beach complex, offering dining, leisure and fitness venues. The new project extends from the management agreement between Nakheel and Starwood Hotels and Resorts for The St Regis Dubai – The Palm, a luxury hotel to be located in Nakheel’s 52-storey Palm Tower hotel and residential complex.
The beach club will feature an infinity pool stretching almost 100m along the seafront and a gym. Guests of The St. Regis Dubai – The Palm will enjoy complimentary access to the beach club.
“The St Regis Beach Club is a natural progression that further cements our relationship with Starwood Hotels and Resorts,” said Ali Rashid Loota, Chairman of Nakheel.
