The growing popularity of Ras Al Khaimah as a popular destination for waterfront living has received a further boost with the launch of the second phase of the Flamingo Villas.
The first phase of the project consisting of 104 villas overlooking the Arabian Gulf and the Mina Al Arab Lagoon is expected to be handed over by the end of this year.
The second phase consists of 57 villas located in Mina Al Arab, a growing residential and retail development in the emirate. While offering sea views, the villas are also close to a nature reserve which is teeming with bird life.
Flamingo Villas features two-bedroom townhouses of 1,875 square feet commanding a price of around Dh750,000, while a 2,400-square-foot villa with sea views and a swimming pool can cost around Dh2.5 million. The amenities for the residents include access to the beach, swimming pools, tennis courts and jogging tracks.
Meanwhile, an upscale villa community called Bermuda is also set to come up in Mina Al Arab featuring 157 three to six-bedroom units. The price of the properties will range between Dh2.5 million and Dh12 million. Bermuda villas are expected to be handed over in 2016.
Mina Al Arab already has two existing villa communities – Granada and Malibu – which were completed a couple of years ago. The annual rent of a three- bedroom townhouse of 3,250 square feet is pegged at Dh100,000 to Dh130,000, while a 4,132-square-foot four-bedroom villa can be leased at Dh150,000 to Dh170,00.
The retail developments in Mina Al Arab featuring eating joints are mostly located in the waterfront promenade in the Lagoon District. The retail hub also has around 800 residential units ranging from studio to three-bedroom apartments.Supermarket chains have already started their operations in the area. A new marina where recreational vessels can be berthed is being built to add glitz and glamour to the setting.
