Nakheel has released a tender for enabling works at Al Khail Avenue, a 3.6-million-sq-ft retail, dining and entertainment hub in Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT).
The scope covers infrastructure services, relocation, shoring works and excavation ahead of construction of the new mall, which is scheduled to open in 2018. Nakheel will release the construction tender by the end of the second quarter.
Located on the eastern edge of Nakheel’s JVT master community, Al Khail Avenue will have 350 shops, including a supermarket, department stores and speciality outlets, a multiscreen cinema, entertainment zone and cafés and restaurants. There will also be a multistorey car park spanning nearly two million sq ft.
Al Khail Avenue, one of ten large-scale developments in Nakheel’s retail portfolio, is being positioned as a shopping and leisure hub for residents of Jumeirah Village, Jumeirah Park and other nearby areas.
The brand’s current and future retail projects account for more than ten million sq ft of leasable space, with upcoming malls and souqs in Deira Islands, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Village and Warsan Village, major extensions to Dragon Mart and Ibn Battuta, and six neighbourhood retail centres.
