Meraas has launched Boxpark, a new outdoor destination concept featuring warehouse containers and other non-traditional building materials, in Dubai. The Dubai-based holding company said Boxpark is inspired by functional design and urban renewal projects that combine the finest in modern architecture through the aesthetics of warehouse containers.

Meraas’ third property concept in less than two years following The Beach and City Walk lifestyle developments, Boxpark will be an urban lifestyle venue offering a selection of retail experiences and quirky dining concepts from around the world. The setting is expected to appeal to Dubai’s multicultural community.

“Boxpark is a spatial experience that invites and engages visitors looking for something different,” the company said in a statement. “With its launch, Meraas is cementing its commitment to create unique retail and lifestyle options in Dubai and bringing new life into its important high-street districts in Al Wasl and Jumeirah.”

The development with warehose containers spans 1.2km on Al Wasl Road be-tween Al Safa Park and Emirates Post Office. It will feature 44 retail, restaurant, café and entertainment brands and outlets, and blend in local and international concepts to create a unique lifestyle destination.
