Being christened as one of the world's top tourist destinations, Dubai seems to be building itself as a family vacation destination by developing theme parks. These will be a fusion of real estate developments, entertainment, leisure and retail venues, and hospitality and tourism expected to directly boost the UAE economy.
Backed with the presence of some famous theme parks like Aquaventure (Atlantis), Wild Wadi, among others, Dubai takes inspiration to move forward in this direction with full speed to lay down blueprints for new ones.
Dubailand, for instance, will have a theme park featuring Marvel superheroes called the IMG Worlds of Adventure. The massive park will be located at the City of Arabia. It will be composed of four sections which will include Marvel, Lost Valley-Dinosaur Adventure, Cartoon Network and IMG Boulevard. Rides will range from roller coasters to other modern rides as well as entertainment attractions. The indoor theme park will also have a wide variety of retail and dining options and a 12-screen cinema.
Apart from the above, there are three other major theme parks that are currently being developed in Jebel Ali based on different themes: Hollywood (Motiongate), Bollywood (BollywoodPark) and Younger Generation (Legoland), part of the Dubai Parks and Resorts project. The three parks will be linked by Riverpark, which will serve as the entrance and will feature dining, retail and entertainment options. These future entertainment destinations have the advantage of being close to the Dubai World Central, which is home to the Al Maktoum International Airport and the Expo 2020 venue.
Dubai will also have an underwater theme park called the Pearl of Dubai, whose design resembles the old city of Atlantis. The park is believed to include ruins for park-goers to explore and enjoy.
With these current and future developments in the leisure/entertainment scene, Dubai is sure to become one of the hottest tourism destinations in the world.
