An exclusive beachfront community that will be home to around 4,000 residents by 2017 within Saadiyat Island, the Cultural District of Abu Dhabi, Hidd Al Saadiyat is putting the finishing touches to the first set of 220 beach villas, which are being targeted for handover by the end of this year.

Developed by Saadiyat Development and Investment Company (SDIC), Hidd Al Saadiyat extends over nearly 1.5 million square metres of natural waterfront land. With nearly seven kilometres of beachfront, the development enjoys an island feel and remarkable landscape. The exclusive 461 villas of the first phase are designed to harmoniously respond to the location and beach access from every unit is at the heart of this unique development.

Parks, commercial centres, yacht club, marina, a school and mosques ensure that the community’s residents are conveniently settled in a place where all amenities are within reach.

Initial construction on Hidd Al Saadiyat began in January 2013. Construction milestones continue to be met and the project handing over is set to begin in November 2016.

Key infrastructure

“Hidd Al Saadiyat’s key infrastructure work is nearly finished. We are happy to be one step closer to welcoming our residents,” said Greg Slingerland, Projects Director at LEAD Development Abu Dhabi, which manages Hidd Al Saadiyat project.

The villas that will be handed over in November and December are in Zone D (Types 6, 7 and 8). There are eight principal villa types in different sizes and customers can choose from Contemporary, Mediterranean and Modern Arabic architectural styles. Prices start at Dh7.2 million for the 4,725 sq. feet villas, going up to Dh 38 million for the Type 1 Beach Palace villas.

More than 50 per cent of those who have bought are UAE nationals, while the rest comprise Gulf and Western expatriates, who are already residing in Abu Dhabi.

According to Marwan M. Hjazin, Director of Sales and Customer Management at LEAD Development, “This is really a unique project. It is away from the bustle of the city, while at the same time being set within easy reach of downtown Abu Dhabi.”

The handover process of Phase 1 of the the Hidd Al Saadiyat project will continue well into the year 2017, while landscaping work will go on till August 2017.

The Phase 2 of the project, which includes apartments, resort, retail and leisure facilities, will probably begin in mid-2017.
