Dubai revs up realty engine for Cityscape

Dubai revs up realty engine for CityscapeRakesh Mirchandani

Hailed the home of real estate investments, Cityscape Global, the world's largest property development networking exhibition and conference, will take place on Sept. 8-10 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The three-day event is avidly awaited by investors, developers, property dealers, regional and city promotion authorities, architects, building contractors, designers, real estate companies and a myriad of real estate professionals with a focused interest on Dubai's rapidly growing property landscape. All the who's who that drive the region's evolving real estate sector will be up front and center at the exhibition.

Over the years, Cityscape has seen a steady increase in visitors, with a 27% increase in opening day visitor numbers last year, putting the total footfall at over 35,000.

The 2015 edition, too, is expected to garner an enormous response. It will host over 300 exhibitors from around the world. Since its inception in 2002, it has established itself as a landmark event in international real estate, with immense influence to drive growth in real estate development and investment across global markets, including emerging markets.

The platform presents an active opportunity to discover and share investment options from around the globe, making the world smaller and the global property-scape a more accessible, opportunity-laden playing field.

With over 100 countries represented at the event, Dubai once again emerges as a strategic centrepoint for another key global event. This has opened up a two-way discovery path, allowing UAE residents an insight into real estate development outside the country and the world a peek into the UAE.

Due to the truly diverse and global nature of exhibitors, Dubai's expatriate-heavy population finds a strong interest in international property investment options that are brought to the table. In addition to a focused display of ongoing and future real estate developments within the city, Cityscape pushes the horizon to include several noteworthy projects across the globe.

The exhibition also drives focus to the investment-friendly climate that the property market offers, making for a stable, assured-returns investment without any of the volatility of the global stock markets.

Cityscape comes at a perfect time as more people turn to real estate as long-term investment. It has opened opportune doors for the UAE and the global market.

In addition to the exhibition itself, Cityscape 2015 will comprise an invitation-only global conference, the Cityscape Awards and Sector Series, an exclusive programme for key real estate players and investors.

A perfect backdrop

With the recent announcement of Meydan One, Dubai is once again in the global real estate spotlight. Its innumerous projects hold great promise for a prosperous future.

A recent news article that listed the ''10 Dubai projects to watch out for'' featured some of the much-anticipated developments CityWalk, Dubai Canal, Deira Islands, Pearl Jumeirah, The Opera District, Mall of the World, Akoya by Damac, Mohammed Bin Rashid City, Dubai Creek Harbour and Bluewaters Island.

Apart from these, Dubai has also successfully implemented various social development reforms. Based on healthcare facilities, cultural development, environmental programmes and well-structured, diverse educational offerings at both school and university levels, it has been featured on several ''most livable cities'' lists, attracting people to its alluring lifestyle, rapid development across various economic sectors and undeniable urban charm. Thus, it makes for the perfect backdrop for another exciting edition of Cityscape Global.
