The Dubai Design District (d3) is a dedicated business park intended to form the hub of Dubai's highly marketable and growing fashion, design and luxury industry.

The Dh4 billion development offers numerous opportunities towards building a creative community with design at its core. This commercial and residential development, once finished, will be located adjacent to Business Bay, quite close to Mohammed Bin Rashid City and Downtown Burj Khalifa, as well as Dubai's international airports. As part of its first phase due to be completed by January 2015, nine buildings will be opened. It is envisaged that d3 will progress into a major design hotspot of the world.

One of TECOM's newest business parks, d3 will be a purpose- built environment catering to the full value chain of the design, fashion and luxury industry, with the vision of creating a creative community that staunchly promotes and supports local and global design talent.

The d3 will be home to a variety of state-of-the art design institutes, art studios, galleries, museums, apart from residential, hospitality, retail and office facilities. The development will feature distinct public areas, unique street furniture, shaded walkways and a creekside esplanade replete with hotels, cafes, shops, and an amphitheatre. A convention center is earmarked to be part of the project, as it will enable the marketing of luxury and design products and services to a wider audience.

The project has received vehement response and interest, and dozens of licenses to operate under the d3 free zone are in the process of being approved and granted. Once complete, d3 is slated to be the ultimate fashion and luxury destination of Dubai, bringing together the city's active design community.

Handy Hints:
