Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council approves 76 projects

The Wahat Al Zaweya Master Plan for a community consisting of almost 3.8 million sq m of residential and commercial development and the Al Ghaniema development, which will comprise 275 villas for UAE nationals as part of the Abu Dhabi National Housing Programme, have been given the go-ahead by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC).

Seventy-six new projects and master plans were approved by the UPC, covering a total gross floor area of more than 10.9 million sq m. Aldar Properties’ Al Shabahat was among them along with World Desert Oasis, a new tourist attraction in Al Ain featuring an African safari experience, botanical gardens and an amphitheatre. In Al Gharbia, several projects were approved including phase one of the Al Wajeha Al Bahria Project Plan, the first mixed-use waterfront development in Mirfa City featuring 126 apartments and ten villas.
