People experience a plateau in their careers, feel life is monotonous and boring or not fulfilled at all. Work and home are two major domains in life from which most people get satisfaction and find meaning. Studies show that irritability and short temper affect health which can cause diseases and burden individuals affecting their productivity and relationships. But there are ways to avoid many forms of stress. One of them is considering a change in your environment.

Colors in your surroundings are an important factor. Changing a few pieces of your work or home furniture can make a difference. Use red to ignite passion, power and stimulate energy. Get a burst of creativity and happiness by adding orange quilt covers or throw pillows on the couches. Make guests feel light-hearted and cheerful by painting your kitchen or guest bedroom with a tinge of yellow. Green promotes harmony, peace and safety while purple exudes a sense of luxury, nobility and wealth. Both of these colors are great for bedrooms. Mix and match blue, black, white and brown colors. Choose a color that is restful for the eyes or perfect for each situation.

Most people simply put everything against the wall when it comes to furniture placement. This could create a boring space. Energy needs to flow because balance is more important than symmetry. If you want a strong and independent look, incorporate circular, oval and arched-shaped furniture.

Use artwork that involves sunshine or any form of natural illumination in the office to create a healthy emotional interaction among co-workers. Furniture with squares, rectangles, ceramics, tiles and bricks promote order and sensuality. Inspire creativity, intuition, and flexibility by integrating wood, floral upholstery and wall coverings.

Use the element of water with crystals, glass or mirrors for a more relaxed environment, but be careful not to overdo it. Scented candles and oils can produce pleasing smells for a calming effect. Play a meditative music or add a fountain and hang a chime. Remember that all these should be balanced for these greatly impact everyone’s mood.

It’s time to take a close look at your space. Remove anything that brings negative energy.
