When house hunting, consider finding a quiet place where traffic flows relatively smooth. Come to Mina, an attractive area in Dubai where you can find beautiful old and modern buildings that offer everyone a wide range of residential choices and a relaxed lifestyle.
Primarily residential, the area is dotted with apartment buildings, some with shops on the ground floor. It has a serene setting well suited to families. Its yearly rents are quite reasonable. One-bedroom apartments start from Dh80,000, two-bedroom units from Dh100,000 and three-bedroom houses from Dh140,000.
The most popular landmark in the area is Port Rashid, with the Dubai Drydocks and Dubai Maritime City located very close to it. Some establishments in the district that are worth mentioning include the New Gold Souk that has scores of jewellery shops, retail stores and a restaurant, and the various hotels that have begun to sprout in the area.
The place also has many dining outlets, some by the roadside, that feature a wide range of cuisines, from Arabic to Italian, Japanese to Chinese and even street food.
Mina hosts the International Modern Hospital. Its one end stretches to 2nd December Street and Al Wasl Road where Belhoul European Hospital and Iranian Hospital are located, respectively. Being near 2nd December and Al Wasl allows residents to shop at Al Ghazal Mall or the various supermarkets, or visit dental clinics and beauty salons in the said areas.
The place offers ease of conveyance. Reliable transport via public buses and taxis is within reach. Living in the area also takes just a short commute to any of the metro stations nearby, giving residents the convenience to go around the city anytime.
With access to the city's popular sights, it is easy for residents to head down to Jumeirah Beach for a weekend outdoor escape, shop in BurJuman, visit Zabeel Park or ''wander'' around Shaikh Zayed Road.
Mina is one of the places in Dubai where you can experience a unique blend of peace and quiet, and the thrill of being immersed in a vibrant mix of cultures.
