Residential properties along Shaikh Zayed Road (SZR) encapsulate the vast majority of developments within Dubai. Running parallel to the shoreline, the main Dubai artery connects most communities across the emirate. From Discovery Gardens, past Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Dubai Marina, alongside Tecom, Downtown Dubai and right up to Deira, SZR is never too far away.
The destination for Dubai's original skyline, SZR is home to dozens of skyscrapers that often function both as commercial and residential properties. The majority of these independent skyscrapers are in Downtown Dubai alongside the Burj Khalifa and near the Dubai World Trade Centre.
48 Burjgate towers over SZR yet still shrinks in the shadow of its nearby neighbor Burj Khalifa. A collection of 182 upmarket apartments and Grade A offices, 48 Burjgate is ideally situated within walking distance of the Dubai Metro and The Dubai Mall in addition to being on the SZR itself, giving residents easy access to every part of Dubai.
Residential towers in the area, which are far too many, all share the benefits of fantastic transport links to the rest of the emirate, whether that be on the road by car or within a short distance from the many Metro stations. This makes any of these residential towers ideal for those travelling to work in almost any direction, those taking their children to school and those going for shopping and leisure activities. SZR is also just a few minute-drive to the Dubai International Airport.
Developments along the district are always in the works, the latest being Al Habtoor City, which is a mixed-use development within one of the most high-profile plots in the city. Three luxury residential buildings are planned as part of the total 395,000 square-meter development, two standing at 75 storeys and one at 52 storeys, each housing nearly 1,500 apartments and penthouses with exclusive leisure facilities. Al Habtoor City is scheduled to open in 2017 to coincide with the finalization of the Dubai Water Canal Project.
