Dubailand may sound like the name of an amusement park, but in actuality, it is a thriving and growing residential area nestled between Emirates Road and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road. With a combination of residential, retail and unique entertainment outlets, there is more than what meets the eye past Arabian Ranches.
The most well-known residential developments in Dubailand will have to be Dubai MotorCity and Dubai Sports City. Offering villas, townhouses and apartments in varying sizes, both offer unique living environments with convenient shopping, fitness and entertainment options right at your doorstep.
Some of the better-kept secrets of Dubailand include Al Waha Villas and Layan Community, a Mediterranean-style community offering views of both the lush gardens and the desert landscape. The communities have facilities such as supermarkets, swimming pools and gyms. Ideal for professionals as well as families, there is a choice of two, three and four-bedroom villas throughout both communities.
Dubailand is also home to Al Barari, Remraam Community and The Villa, providing a variety of stately villas in lush eco-friendly gardens and affordable but quality low-rise apartments.
Dubailand currently has several projects in development including Mudon, Dubai Lifestyle City and The Palmarosa. Each offers something unique to the area, whether it is a friendly self-contained neighborhood, a waterfront development or a wellness resort.
New developments are consistently being planned within Dubailand as well, with recent plans of launching another mega golf-centered project called AKOYA Oxygen. Spread over 55 million square feet, the residential development will be built around a championship golf course and developed under the theme of 'Escape the City.'
There are also projects in the works to build and develop new schools in the area to accommodate the growing population of families. A reputed construction firm is also in the process of partnering with a top UK-based school hoped to be completed and open in September 2015.
