Al Mushrif in Abu Dhabi is a largely residential area located between Airport Road and Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street. A little more than a decade ago, this near-the-city-center district was considered a suburb of the capital, evidence of the fast-changing face of cities in the region.

Al Mushrif is very different from other residential areas in the city because of its slow and comfortable pace of development. Characterized by villas in all sizes and architectural styles and low-rise buildings, it is not uncommon to see young children riding their bikes and playing ball at the Al Mushrif Children's Park, seemingly very oblivious to the world.

The relatively new Mushrif Mall, however, has pushed traffic in the neighborhood up a few notches. Residents from the city center and the suburbs frequent this mega mall because of a hypermarket and the scores of big brands that call it home.

The residents of the area send their children to the multitude of schools located conveniently nearby. These include the world-class British School Al Khubairat and the popular International School of Choueifat. Other schools in the neighborhood are Al Mushrif School and Al Nahda National School.

The exclusive Abu Dhabi Country Club and one of the President's homes, Al Mushrif Palace, is also located in the locality, ensuring security and safety in the area.

Another feature in the neighborhood is the harmony between different faiths that co-exist peacefully. Tucked deep in Al Mushrif are various churches of different religions and mosques.

Rents in Al Mushrif are at par with those in the city center, with studio apartments leasing from around Dh35,000 annually, and one and two-bedroom flats leasing from Dh55,000 and Dh65,000 per year, respectively. Four-bedroom villas start renting from around Dh230,000 per year.
