Rashidiya community is one of the localities in old Dubai that is protected from the hustle and bustle of the city. When Sharjah or Ajman is too far-fetched an idea to migrate to, is this community, along with Ghusais and Mirdif, is among the Dubai localities where residents opt to reside. Although considered to be on the outskirts of the emirate, the place continues to attract residents due to its affordable rents and quite peaceful environment.
Located adjacent to the Dubai International Airport, Rashidiya has a wide variety of residential units for lease, from apartments to villas to townhouses. The housing options can start from studio apartments to 11-bedroom villas, with villas occupying a huge chunk of the residential supply in the area.
Rental rates for studio apartments start at around Dh25,000 annually. Two-bedroom villas start at approximately Dh70,000 per year, while the larger independent five-bedroom residential units lease for around Dh500,000 per year.
Rashidiya is known for the Al Rashidiya Park, a popular weekend destination for families who want a little bit of the breeze outdoors without an hour spent behind the wheel to get to it.
The Bin Sougat Centre, located adjacent to the park, means that, more often than not, park goers hit two birds with one stone. Residents can also choose to head for the Mirdif City Centre, which is just a few minutes away.
Other landmarks in the area include the Rashidiya Grand Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the country, and Dubai’s Airport Tunnel, one of the longest in the Middle East.
Rashidiya also has a number of schools, the likes of Universal American School in Dubai, Al Iman Private School and Rashidiya Islamic School.
Life for the Rashidiya residents has been positively affected by the opening of the Rashidiya Metro Station, allowing them to have easier access to the entertainment, business and other important areas of Dubai.
