Listed as the smallest emirate in the UAE is the emirate of Ajman – a place that is ideal for those yearning for a lifestyle far away from the chaos of city life in the neighboring emirates.
With the emirate's proximity to the Sharjah and Dubai international airports, and with cheaper house rents, Ajman has been attracting the attention of potential buyers to its residential communities due to the lower rates. The same can be said for renters who used to live in Dubai and Sharjah, who have made a move to Ajman after the rather quick escalation in rents in the other emirates. In Ajman, the rent cannot be increased in the first year of the tenancy contract, after which a 20% increase is allowed.
Several residential projects are being developed in Ajman. A few in the area provide not only more reasonably-priced accommodation, but also access to high-end malls and shopping centers. These include Al Rashidiya, Al Rumailah, Emirates City, Al Zahra, Al Jurf, Nuaimiyah, Ajman Marina, Ajman Uptown, Marmooka City, Al Humaid City, Al Bustan, and others.
A few of these areas have flats priced at relatively lower rates, with one-bedroom apartments priced ranging from Dh25,000 to 30,000, and two-bedroom flats from Dh40,000 to 45,000. Such types of accommodation are good for those in the low income segment, and those who could do without any extra facilities in their buildings.
Others who do not wish to compromise on their standard of living and are seeking accommodation with some distinct facilities can take a look at some high-rise towers developed in the posh residential areas of the emirate which do satisfy such expectations. One is the Shami Twin Towers which comprises two 25-storey residential cum commercial towers, with massive 4-storey private parking facilities. The towers consist of spacious one, two and three-bedroom apartments. The Horizon Towers is another posh residential project consisting of three residential towers with facilities that include a private elevated covered parking, temperature-controlled swimming pools, Jacuzzis, saunas, game areas and a whole lot more.
• Ajman is a good choice for those willing to reside in peaceful surroundings
• Lower rental rates in a few areas in Ajman make living there more economical
• Some high-rise towers provide fully furnished flats and complete facilities
