There is no residential address as coveted and as posh as Downtown Dubai. The home to superlatives – the tallest building, the largest performing fountain and one of the biggest malls – is a hodgepodge of mid-rise buildings, serviced residences and high-rise apartments in all shapes, sizes and prices.
High-rise apartment living options in Downtown Dubai are many, providing owners and tenants alike magnificent views of the place dubbed ''The Centre of Now'' and the dynamic Dubai landscape.
The Residence is the definition of luxury. Located from floors 19 to 108 of the tallest tower, Burj Khalifa, the homes are a mix of studio to four-bedroom apartments, with the added facilities of sky lobbies fitted with Jacuzzis and swimming pools.
Then there is the Armani Residences, aptly named as it was designed by the legendary designer Giorgio Armani himself. Also located in Burj Khalifa, on the ninth to 16th floors, investors have the option of one and two-bedroom suites swathed with the Armani touch.
A few steps away from Burj Khalifa are the nine high-rise building complex The Residences which offers one to four-bedroom units complete with modern fitness amenities, a day care center, a small theater and a business center. The six-tower project Southridge, on the other hand, has one to four-bedroom apartments and penthouses featuring health and fitness facilities, a golf simulator and a children's play area.
Dwarfed by neighboring high-rises but still managing to catch residents' attention is the Old Town. The thriving neighborhood is replete with low-rise buildings, some with penthouses, in Arabic design. Occupying a vast area divided into six districts, its layout is sprinkled with cafes and retail shops. Lifestyle perks include squash courts, games room, pools and gyms. The Old Town Island also sports a somewhat similar architectural design, but is integrated with commercial units, and entertainment and retail spots.
Several other residential options dot Downtown Dubai, endlessly drawing a mélange of population to the area. Accented with a buzzing atmosphere on top of a wide array of hotels, dining venues and all the trappings of a modern life (plus a lot more to come), there is nothing more a resident could ask for here.
