Pick your preferred villa community in the capital

Although apartments are the most preferred residential option for residents because they are relatively cheaper, some individuals opt to live in villas because the latter provides ample indoor and outdoor space and a garden, elements which are lacking in apartment living. There are several villa developments spread across the country – some in themed communities near the city, others in “off-the-beaten tracks” that afford homeowners the peace and quiet that they so desire, while some others have water views that add an “oomph” factor to villa living.

In Abu Dhabi, villas are scattered on and off island. While Karama, Bateen, Muroor, Mushrif and Khalidiya used to be the capital’s residential villa hot spots, today, newer communities are springing up everywhere in the capital. These new destinations, mostly located in the mainland, lure residents with modern amenities and facilities like gyms, swimming pools and children’s play areas, plus the added convenience of schools, supermarkets, retail shops and banks nearby.

Saadiyat Island makes for a picturesque and ideal residential address away from the bustling chaos of the city. With the slew of accommodation options available here, investors will surely be left spoilt for choice. The Saadiyat Beach Villas is a mix of three to six-bedroom townhouses and villas in Mediterranean, contemporary and Arabian designs. Leisure venues in the vicinity include a golf course, hotel resorts and, of course, the beach.

Just a boat ride away from Saadiyat island is Nurai Island, which promises homeowners a luxury island hideaway. The place boasts waterfront villas that are considered one of the priciest in the country. Residents can expect boutique hotels, food and beverage outlets, fitness and recreation venues, and even a helipad once construction is completed.

Al Raha Gardens, enjoying a strategic location right opposite the Al Raha Beach, features three to five-bedroom freehold houses in distinct Arabian style. The homes are spread across 11 sectors complete with a retail center, schools and food establishments.

Other villa communities are Mangrove Village, Sas Al Nakhl Village, Royal Marina Villas, Al Gurm and Golf Gardens, among several others.
