The Dh30 billion Mohammed bin Rashid City (MBR City), located near Meydan City and Downtown Dubai, is planned as a mixed-use development that will feature residential, commercial, leisure and sports facilities within a 54 million square feet area.
The development’s District One, which covers an area of 4 million square feet and will consist of 1,500 villas, was inaugurated earlier this year. With the villas situated amidst open green areas, District One is set to become one of the lowest density residential environments in Dubai and possibly in any major international city in the world, according to reports.
Plans also reveal that District One will include some 600 hectares of open spaces such as parks, waterways, woodlands and a waterpark. It is also set to be the home of the world’s largest crystal lagoon with seven kilometers of lagoons and 14 kilometers of beaches that will run alongside retail areas, leisure facilities and sports facilities.
With the MBR City handover date projected in 2018-2019, it is expected that the entire compendium of premium luxury villas at District One will also be completed and ready for handover before the start of the Dubai Expo 2020.
Meanwhile, sales of the second phase of luxury properties in the Dubai Hills Estate project, also located within MBR City, have gone incredibly well. Investors who came from the UAE, GCC countries and London bought properties at Mulberry at Park Heights, the first residential complex within Dubai Hills Estate.
Mulberry at Park Heights offers apartments set in proximity to an 18-hole golf course. It has unique features such as the first-of-its-kind common terrace areas where families can meet. It will also have a tennis academy, outdoor pools, and jogging and cycling tracks available to all residents.
As a whole, MBR City will, of course, also contain high-end retail centers as well as educational institutions, healthcare facilities, mosques and other conveniences upon its completion.
• Mohammed bin Rashid City will consist of several residential developments
• District One will feature thousands of villas set amidst a field of green areas
• Mulberry at Park Heights will offer many apartment options near a golf course
