If you are looking for a family-friendly environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Mirdif is an excellent choice. Once considered very far away from the city center, today it is a well-connected area with plenty of shops, nurseries, schools, malls and medical facilities. With easy access to Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Khawaneej Road and Al Awir Road, it is a suitable option for anyone working near the airport and its vicinity.
Mirdif is popular for housing facilities like UPTOWN Mirdiff offering a wide variety of residential options, Shorooq featuring villas and apartments, and Ghoroob providing residential apartments, so residents have the choice of renting a nice apartment or a cozy villa.
Rents here are reasonable. A studio flat can be rented at Dh50,000 a one bedroom apartment at Dh60,000 and a two-bedroom unit at around Dh90,000. Annual average rents for three and four-bedroom villas can range between Dh180,000 and Dh200,000.
Mirdif has a lot of malls such as Mirdif City Centre and Arabian Centre, and is a 20-minute drive to Dubai Festival City (DFC). Several nurseries and schools are also located in the area such as Emirates British Nursery, Small Steps Nursery, Al Mizhar American Academy for Girls, Dubai English Speaking College, Royal Dubai School and Uptown School.
While Mirdif is located on the outer periphery of the city, numerous outdoor parks are available nearby: Rashidiya Park, Garhoud Park, Mushrif Park and Mirdif Park.
However, if you do not drive, connectivity can become an issue. Public transportation options are limited and the only metro station that is near is Rashidiya. The nightlife is not great in the area, so residents may have to drive down to DFC, The Irish Village or the city center.
Overall though, Mirdif is a great option for those who wish to stay away from the congestion of the city but still be well-connected to other parts of Dubai.
• Mirdif has reasonable rental fees compared to other localities in Dubai
• It is dotted with parks, schools, shops, nurseries, malls and medical facilities
