A significant part of the Emirates Living residential community, The Meadows is one of the most beautiful and sought-after master planned sub-communities. A top choice among young professionals and families alike, its popularity as a superior place to live in is on account of several reasons.
Located off Shaikh Zayed Road (SZR), this fully-gated villa community is in proximity to other popular residential developments Emirates Hills, Jumeirah Islands and Dubai Marina as well as commercial hot spots Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Knowledge Village. Location aside, the modern luxury villas in The Meadows are a refreshing change from the high-rises that surround the outskirts of the community.
Be it a modest 3,000-square-foot three-bedroom unit, or a sprawling 6,000-square-foot seven-bedroom house, each unit (with garden and garage) is designed to offer either a park or lake view to its residents. Neighborhood features include swimming pools, cycling tracks and other recreational facilities as well as a range of medical centers, shops, supermarkets, schools/nurseries and mosques that are a stone’s throw away from each other.
Having lived in The Springs for eight years, it is for these reasons (and more) that Indian expat couple Sanjev and Ritika Dhingra, along with daughter Manaswni and son Tanishq, decided to upgrade themselves to The Meadows quite recently. “The reason we moved here is because we wanted to enjoy the few years before my children leave for university in a larger house with a lakeside view,” says Ritika. “Our new Hattan villa has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, an external bedroom and bathroom for our maid, a private pool and a garden against the resonating sound of the fountain from the nearby breathtaking lake,” adds the proud homemaker.
“Living here has several advantages,” Ritika says. “Firstly, the serene surroundings promise a tranquil world within the busy metropolis of Dubai.” She says it is the only community with three lakes within a 10-kilometer radius. “Secondly, this locality embodies the true feeling of community and family life. Being a pet-friendly area, there are plenty of shaded pathways to walk Charmie (their eight-year-old Pekingese dog which they consider an integral part of the family) through the neighborhood.” “And thirdly, with the presence of a thriving community center at our doorstep, I can get my daily necessities with ease.”
Travel to and from the community is a major plus for the Dhingra family. “My husband has his interior design house in Al Quoz and he takes under 15 minutes to get there every day. I am responsible for taking my children to school, which is conveniently located along SZR and is a 10-minute drive from home,” says the doting mom. To add to this, big malls like Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall and Dubai Marina Mall for shopping, and the new Saudi German Hospital for medical requirements are in close vicinity to the area.
Being such a complete development – central, established as well as child and pet-friendly replete with green surroundings – the rentals in The Meadows tend to be high. The other downer is that the villas appear old and somewhat tired, especially in the wake of several newer villa communities springing up at an alarming speed.
Having said that, families who have been living here for years still swear by it and consider it their “best choice” for safe and secure living in the heart of the city.
