The Jumeirah Islands comprises 50 self-contained islands in luxe surroundings. A splendid habitat that soaks up privacy and spells sheer comfort, it is arguably the largest collection of man-made islands built inland of a city.
Consisting of more than 700 villas that come with their own garden and swimming pool and replete with enviable lake views, the development is nothing but luxury redefined. The homes, relatively larger than those in neighboring communities like The Meadows and The Springs, are clustered around lush landscaped canals with each cluster surrounded by dynamic waterfalls and lagoons. They come in five architectural themes to cater to varied tastes: Oasis, Mediterranean, Islamic, European and Tropical.
Residing in Jumeirah Islands is synonymous to resort-style living. It is all about opulence and exclusivity. The homes are designed in a manner that each villa gets its complete share of privacy. The community offers stupendous views with each villa featuring unique architecture and beautiful landscaping, quaint walkways, bridges and paths.
Despite the luxurious feel, the convenience factor has not been neglected as the area comes with its complete share of amenities. The nearest metro station is Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) and nearby malls include Dubai Marina Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall and Mall of the Emirates. Business districts like JLT, Dubai Marina, Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City are within easy reach. Reputed schools like Emirates International School and Dubai British School at Emirates Living, The Winchester School and Jebel Ali Primary School are located in close proximity.
John Kurien, a businessman, and Jolly, a housewife, have been proud residents of Cluster 44 of this uber-luxurious island development for the past four years. Their son, Shon Vishal, and daughter-in-law, Nikhita, are involved in the family business while the younger son, Shane John, is a student.
John says, “Moving to Jumeirah Islands from Abu Hail in Deira has brought about a sea change in our lives. We are happy to be living in a safe and secure environment amidst pleasant surroundings and lots of open spaces away from the highway traffic.”
He adds that being located behind JLT, between The Meadows and Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Islands has close access to Shaikh Zayed and Al Khail Roads.
“Life is definitely more relaxed here as all the required facilities like clubhouse, gym and supermarkets are available. The spacious walkways and parks have added a lot of charm to the place. Convenient access to all major highways, proximity to shopping malls and the fact that it was fairly priced at the time of purchase were just some of the factors that enticed us to buy a property here.”
Asked how he finds the place, John says, “The constructed area is around 30 percent of the total land area which means that there is a lot of open space, lending an elegant feel to the locality. The climate in this place is slightly cooler possibly because there are many trees and water features which are a refreshing factor given the hot and humid climate of the UAE.”
Although they are more than happy with the development’s offerings, John says the service charges and utility bills are quite high.
However, he concluded that with the locality’s exclusive atmosphere, it offers the perfect environment to relax and unwind.
