Dubailand, popularly known as the home of one of the largest exhibitions in the region called Global Village, consists of around 50 projects. These span the leisure, entertainment, residential and commercial arenas and make Dubailand a very entertaining place.
One of Dubailand's developments, and one of its largest too, is called Zen. The construction of this project will begin this year and it will be launched by 2017. The project was announced late last year by local developer Indigo, which is behind the planned gated villa community. This will take approximately 24-28 months to complete. If all goes as planned, buyers and tenants can look forward to living in Zen by mid-2017.
Indigo has revealed its plans for the project and they are impressive. Set on more than 4 million square feet of land, it will include villas ranging from a relatively modest 4,000 square feet three-bedroom to much larger 10,000 square feet six-bedroom homes. They will range in price from AED 4 million to AED 8 million, a price the developers believe is affordable to the upper middle class.
Living there will be a Zen experience as the resort-style development takes cue from tropical resorts in South East Asia and includes gurgling streams with free flowing water, palm trees and quiet meditation nooks. It will boast of 75,000 square feet of water bodies.
The Zen community will also incorporate shaded seating areas in the open, sunken pavilions, verdant foliage and multiple areas for play and recreation, like playgrounds and jogging tracks, for both adults and children. When not in a Zen state of mind, residents can shop and enjoy the clubhouse facilities.
Zen is located in the 55 million square feet Dubai Golf City that comprises five golf courses, a resort, themed golf villages and a range of housing options that include chalets, villas and mansions. The AED 1.5 billion Zen project will feature 346 townhomes and villas that will have a freehold status to enable expatriates and locals alike to enjoy a little Far East in the Middle East.
