Living in the vicinity of a golf course and the tranquil views of a lake may sound like a dream for many of us, but the Bakshis have made it a reality for themselves.
Manish Bakshi, Team Head in a private bank, and Gurpreet Bakshi, also a banker, have been residents of Tanaro, The Greens and are enjoying every bit of their stay there. They are proud to make this traffic less, pollution less community home for the past four years.
True to its name, the community is a perfect blend of lush green landscaping with the right mix of amenities required for comfortable living. One of the communities to pioneer the freehold revolution in Dubai, The Greens has become quite popular amongst families looking for comfort and convenience in the heart of the city, albeit in a serene atmosphere.
The residences consist of a pleasant mix of low and high-rise towers. Well-established gardens, a beautiful lake, shady walkways and barbeque areas lend a unique touch to the area that is conveniently located close to Shaikh Zayed Road, Shaikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
Having moved from Discovery Gardens to The Greens, the Bakshis feel that it is a much better place in many ways as compared to their previous locality. Their building offers lots of facilities and amenities like a gym, pool, poolside barbeque station, party hall, children's play area and, most importantly, efficient security where all the visitors' records are maintained and verified with residents before they are sent across to their apartments. The building is also well equipped with cameras.
Situated adjacent to the golf course and replete with lovely lake views from the apartment, Gurpreet is happy to say that she feels great to have morning tea while enjoying the views of the beautiful lake and greenery around.
''Living in a house next to a golf course with a lovely lake view is, in itself, the biggest incentive to purchasing property out here. We love the community with a beautiful lake and greenery. It is amazing to live close to nature and away from Dubai's concrete jungle. Also, The Greens has good proximity to daily groceries, the metro station, multi-cuisine restaurants and cafes. There is a renowned school named Regent International School right behind our building. Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall and Dubai Marina Mall are also within a ten-minute driving reach. Since our offices are located in Emaar Square and Jumeirah Beach Road, we are always against the traffic while off to our offices which really saves our time and energy.''
''We go for a jog or a walk as there is a lovely jogging track around the lake. My two school-going kids have friends with whom they catch up with in the evenings and play around the lake area. The Greens has good social and community gatherings like Halloween parties and community markets where activities are organized for kids like talent shows, etc. The events are good for social networking and it is also good to know your community,'' adds Gurpreet.
Quite happy with living in The Greens, Gurpreet happily admits that she and her family are absolutely in love with it. One aspect, however, that needs an upgrade is the car parking.
''Most of the buildings here offer one car park which creates problems. Hence, additional parking would make things more comfortable and convenient,'' she says.
• Restaurants and cafes
