Emirates Living is an extremely popular and prestigious community in the neighborhood of prime residential and commercial areas like Dubai Marina, Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City (DIC). Although it is strategically located between Dubai's two main highways, Shaikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, it is securely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the day-to-day city life.
The community comprises the distinct sub-communities Emirates Hills, The Meadows, The Lakes and The Springs. Emirates Hills is considered the poshest, housing customized luxury villas overlooking the breathtaking Montgomerie golf course. The Meadows and The Lakes are serene localities consisting of detached homes, while The Springs is made up of compact townhouses amidst man-made lakes and beautiful parks.
Amongst this lot, one of the most affordable and sought-after communities, particularly by young families, is The Springs. Located in the midst of lush greenery and water features, it is made up of a cluster of gated precincts, each with separate entry points. It features a range of two and three-bedroom townhouses in varying sizes and floor plans, with each unit having its own garden.
Being such an ideal blend of villa living and wholesome communal atmosphere, young couple Rahul and Manasi Hukku decided to live here after leaving Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia more than a year and half back. Residents of Springs 11, the couple, along with their four-year-old son Armaan, rents a Type 3M villa comprising three bedrooms plus study. Their villa was previously renovated to incorporate a spacious living room, an open kitchen and a landscaped garden.
''We had lived in communities earlier. Communities create room for privacy and an opportunity to mingle with neighbors. The Springs seemed like a cozy community surrounded by nurseries and supermarkets, and it is closely located to Ibn Battuta Mall and Mall of the Emirates for an easy getaway; hence, it was our top choice,'' Manasi says.
While Manasi is a budding entrepreneur, her husband Rahul works for a tech giant at DIC. In the words of Rahul, ''The Springs' proximity to my office is a huge plus as DIC is a convenient 10-minute drive from home.'' Manasi adds, ''Our son used to attend a nursery conveniently located across the Town Centre opposite Springs 14.''
Providing ample opportunities for outdoor entertainment, residents have easy access to amenities such as swimming pools, parks and fitness centers.
''I like swimming, going for long walks or cycling around the beautiful lake behind Springs 11,'' says Manasi, ensuring that she takes full advantage of the facilities. Her son is a regular at the parks and has an active circle of friends. Besides, the family loves the concept of the ''Market Day'' carnival arranged by the community during the pleasant months. Held at the lawns of Springs 15, it is an ideal platform for residents to interact with each other and for an evening of shopping and entertainment for all.
When questioned about the shortcomings of the locality, Manasi says, ''The only thing I dislike about the community are the children's play areas. They should incorporate more swings, seasaws and others so that children can enjoy the winter in the big parks within the community. They should also install intercom facilities between the guardhouse and the homes, now a common feature prevalent in communities in other expat-oriented countries, for efficient security.''
