Spending an entire weekend on Palm Jumeirah is just a dream for some of us.
Known by most as Dubai’s ultimate elite address, this residential locality offers the best of a beachfront lifestyle and so much more.
Ajay and Heena Karani are among the happy residents of Palm Jumeirah. Ajay is a partner at Prakash Trading Group of Companies, while Heena is the operations manager at Advanced Technology. They have made the Marina Residences located on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah their home for about five years now.
Heena is absolutely in awe of the beauty of the Palm Jumeirah which she rates as the best aspect of this waterfront locality. “Once you enter the Palm, you move into a different world altogether,” she exclaims.
Previous residents of Uptown Mirdiff, they say, “It is like having a resort-style lifestyle throughout the year. We love the breathtaking views from our apartment on the eleventh storey. Daily, we are mesmerized by the beauty in our surroundings, something like taking a helicopter ride over the Palm.”
Heena so loves their place on the Palm that owning a villa in Al Barari has not made them want to move out of the Palm. She says, “Waking up to gorgeous marina views brings a promising start to each day. The pristine blue waters and the yachts give one a feel of being in ‘mini’ Nice or Cannes. And there is no better way to end my day with picturesque sunset views of the Palm.”
Apart from the superb views, she loves the spaciousness of their apartment which lends the feel of a villa. They are able to enjoy uninterrupted views of the Palm which was one of the biggest reasons for their moving into their apartment. There are also expansive views of Atlantis from every room in their apartment. Being an ardent nature-lover, Heena admits that watching the sea and enjoying the sea breeze helps her unwind at the end of the day.
In Ajay’s opinion, “Any part of the world close to the water holds a lot of promise as far as real estate appre- ciation is concerned. Waterfront developments are always in great demand. Hence, from an investment point of view, this property has proven quite lucrative.”
Heena also loves having a home that is quiet. Palm Jumeirah is a calming retreat sans traffic jams and honking cars. Their house is barely five minutes from all conveniences, however. Cabs are also easily available. It is easy to go five-star dining as a flurry of world-class hotels are right at their doorstep.
From a hygiene point of view as well, Heena is happy to report there are no roaches or mosquitoes or lingering food odors in the house which are otherwise quite common among properties that have food outlets on the ground level.
Being the exclusive neighborhood that it is, Palm Jumeirah does work on a few aspects. Proper traffic control needs to be exercised during events like New Year’s Eve and the Sandance Festival. Another thing that needs to be looked into is that there is no public transport directly connected to the Palm, except the monorail to Atlantis. Heena suggests that all the stations of the monorail should be opened and also that train fares should be decreased to make it a feasible mode of transport. Visitors’ parking space also needs a major upgrade.
There may be small dampers to life in Palm Jumeirah, but Ajay and Heena love it there. To them, there is simply no place like Palm Jumeirah. “I love my home in Palm Jumeirah so much so that I miss it badly whenever I travel,” Heena exclaims.
