If you are a pet lover and are relocating to Abu Dhabi, one of your primary concerns will be whether your furry friend will be as welcome there as you. Animals do not adapt easily to environmental changes, so one thing to consider when moving with pets in tow is the climate. Another factor is that they need plenty of space to run around.
Abu Dhabi is not a very pet-friendly city. The rules do not allow pets to run free on the road or in the parks, and you cannot just walk into a store or the mall with your pet in tow. There are very limited areas you can take your pets to.
The good news is that there are communities that wholly support pets living there with their owners. It is noted that the newer developments and communities are pet-friendly, and this is one feature that endears them to families who will otherwise be unable to bring their pets when relocating.
Al Reef Villas is situated near the stunningly azure Al Raha Beach. It is a gated community offering all the latest amenities right from indoor sports to picturesque landscaped community spaces. Residents here will vouch for how pet-friendly the community is. There are vast open spaces where pets can feel comfortable instead of being cooped up at home all day.
Al Raha Gardens, which is also a community that is in proximity to Al Raha Beach, is yet another pet-friendly community. It has veterinary clinics nearby, and pet grooming salons that pamper and preen the furry ones.
Mangrove Village, which is located in Officers City (Abu Dhabi Gate City), is yet another tranquil community that supports and gives full freedom to pet owners. The community is replete with children’s play areas and even a Spinneys to make it all-encompassing. Dogs and other pets are free to walk around the vicinity and enjoy just as other residents there.
Reem Island is generally not accommodating to pets, but some buildings allow tenants and owners to bring their pets, especially cats, with them when moving in. Some towers in the Corniche area are also reportedly friendly towards tenants with pets.
