One of the most coveted locations in the UAE, Dubai Marina is constantly elevating itself to higher standards. Surrounding its man-made marina is a motley of residences, hotels, shops and restaurants. Exuding a beautiful European feel, the area has become one of the most exclusive waterfront neighbourhoods in the country. Boasting spectacular views while also offering a suave urban lifestyle, individuals living in the Marina do really have it all.
Saurabh Vasdev, Manager of Internal Audit, wife Shelza and daughter Aalikhya have been residents of Pinnacle Tower for over two years now. The tower, also known as the Tiger Building, is a 77-storey structure with eight floors of basement and floor parking. The building also features an entire floor dedicated to a health club which includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a mini Jacuzzi, a steam bath, a play area and two gyms.
Describing her residential locality, Shelza says, ''The location stands out from other localities that Dubai has to offer. The address matters.''
Elaborating on the perks of residing in one of the tallest residential blocks in the world, she explains that the views from her apartment are stupendous.
''The views from each apartment in this tower are quite an attraction in itself. We are fortunate to have views of The Palm, including Atlantis, coupled with views of the spectacular turquoise waters of the Arabian Sea. The cool breeze from the sea is enough to give anyone a positive start to the day!''
Shelza says Dubai Marina's Marina Walk and the place's amazing connectivity to the Dubai Tram and Dubai Metro are major resident pullers.
''The jogging tracks at Marina Walk, which is a two-minute stroll from our tower, are a perfect way to start any fitness regime. They have, in fact, worked miracles on my husband and me,'' adds Shelza.
Furthermore, going to the pool or health club does not call for a drive to a place and back as both are located just a few levels away in the same building.
The couple regards Dubai Marina as a cosmopolitan haven.
''One can see people from almost all nationalities here, which makes it quite an exciting place to make an interesting social circle. Its proximity to the beach is also an exceptional advantage. Checking the weather from the balcony and walking down to the beach is a salient feature of our lifestyle which we enjoy the most in this waterfront locality,'' Shelza explains.
Enumerating the other advantages of residing in the area, whose lifestyle can be equated to French cities like Cannes and Nice, Shelza says that it is dynamically connected to the arterial Shaikh Zayed Road and has easy access to The Walk and The Beach in Jumeirah Beach Residence. Another plus is that it is a major gastronomical hub with an amazing array of restaurants catering to varied taste buds.
When asked about any disadvantages, Shelza reveals, ''The visitors' parking areas are limited and the ongoing construction can be too noisy at times. It would be nicer for the kids if there were public parks nearby.
''However, the upsides of staying in Dubai's most exclusive neighbourhoods far outweigh the minor hitches and Dubai Marina can be safely dubbed as a happening high-rise community.''
