The project comprises premium hotel, office, retail and residential space all found in a convenient location along Dubai's main thoroughfare, that is, Shaikh Zayed Road.
A lot of yuppies and members of Dubai's thriving expat community have made Downtown Dubai their home in spots like South Ridge, The Old Town and Burj Residences, with more developments still in the offing.
Having The Dubai Mall as one's next door neighbor is definitely a big plus residents in the area enjoy as the massive establishment is replete with all things one would need and all kinds of places one would want to see. If you have guests coming over and you simply can't fit them into your Downtown Dubai apartment, plenty of good hotels are found in the area like The Address, Al Manzil, Armani Hotel and Ramada Hotel.
Access to the rest of Downtown Dubai had greatly improved when the Dubai Metro finally got directly linked to The Dubai Mall by virtue of the walkway which takes one on a winding tour of Downtown Dubai from up above. It is, therefore, not unusual to see both tourists and residents getting their photos taken along the walkway.
During winter, people can take relaxing walks around Downtown Dubai as the area has beautifully landscaped spaces, and one gets to enjoy views of the Burj Khalifa from virtually any part of the district.
