Impressive landscape and good amenities for children have helped MotorCity emerge as one of the best performing residential districts in terms of rentals and sales. The development located along Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road currently features two residential projects – UPTOWN MotorCity and Green Community.

According to the latest report published by Asteco, the annual rent of a one-bedroom house in the area has appreciated to Dh90,000 from Dh75,000 in the last one year. Annual rent of a two-bedroom unit has moved up from Dh120,000 to Dh135,00 a year back, while a three-bedroom unit commands a rental fee of Dh200,000 from Dh155,000.

While UPTOWN MotorCity features low-rise apartments, Green Community consists of villas, townhouses and bungalows.

UPTOWN MotorCity is modelled on a typical English spa town and maintains its own idyllic charm with gardens and cobbled pathways. Even the names of some of its clusters, Shakespeare Circus, Marlowe House and Dickens Circus, have a strong colonial influence.

Green Community also provides a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of urban lifestyle with its terraced apartments and townhouses built around a lake. In recent times, a number of retail offerings and schools have come up in the area, making it a popular address for young families.

MotorCity is primed for further growth as new residential and retail developments are planned. The first phase of the Green Community expansion will feature more than 70 villas while the second phase will include more than 70 villas and more than 50 apartments (two and three-bedrooms) across six floors.

Set for completion in 2019, Vertex Towers is expected to alter the skyline of MotorCity. The mixed-use development will feature five towers comprising 700 residential units and retail space.

With around 25,000 to 30,000 residents expected to be housed within the community, the developers are focusing on enhancing its retail amenities. Retail development The Ribbon will feature a strip of food and beverage outlets. The Auto Mall, which catered to the automobile industry, is being converted into a general mall.

Handy Hints:

• New developments in MotorCIty include The Ribbon and Vertex Towers

• The expansion in Green Community will add more villas and apartments

• Existing MotorCity housing are UPTOWN MotorCity and Green Community
