As indicated by its name, Business Bay is a business district located in the centre of the city.
A cluster of multiple high-rise residential and commercial towers, it is located in the immediate neighbourhood of the world's most prestigious strip, the Downtown Dubai, off Shaikh Zayed Road. Over the past decade, it has indeed emerged as a frontrunner in the freehold property sector and is now witnessing further increase in demand by both property owners and tenants alike.
The Executive Towers form the core of the residential developments in Business Bay. These comprise residential buildings ranging from 28 to 52 storeys offering a wide range of housing options.
Celia Cookson, a teacher at Dubai International Academy in Emirates Hills, has been residing at Executive Towers' Tower F for five years now.
She says that the area's central location is its major highlight. Celia, who stayed in Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Jumeirah Beach Residence prior to moving to Business Bay, says it only takes her around 17 minutes to commute from her home to the school.
''Business Bay is a great place to stay. When I moved in, the infrastructure was still in its developing stages. The roads were still being done; more buildings were coming up. However, I liked the idea that it was in a central location and very close to Downtown Dubai,'' she reveals.
''Today, although construction is still ongoing, Business Bay has developed into a full-fledged community with a cosmopolitan flavour,'' she adds.
One of the perks of living in Business Bay is being able to witness the stunning views of iconic landmarks Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain.
Celia says she loves to revel in the view of the Burj Khalifa and the beauty of the fountain from her 17th floor apartment. Not only the views, but these iconic landmarks are also just a five-minute drive from her apartment, so it is a pride to be staying in proximity to these tourist attractions and The Dubai Mall.
There are other benefits as well. ''The greenery is another wow factor. It gives me a great sense of joy to see families enjoying picnics on the grassy greens in the locality,'' Celia says.
Though Celia's fashion photographer son, George Hughes, lives in the US, she is happy that Business Bay is an exceptional place for kids as it is flanked by a host of amenities that makes for a wonderful child-friendly environment.
''There is a football field, park, play centre for kids and lots of open spaces. The area is abuzz with round-the-year events, the recent of which were a children's theatre show at Bay Avenue park showcasing Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, amongst others,'' she says.
A rich array of lifestyle amenities in surrounding destinations adds to its appeal. The fact that day-to-day conveniences are located at the doorstep proves rather advantageous to the residents of this neighbourhood.
''Spinneys is located downstairs and it allows residents to bring their trolleys to their apartments, making everything very convenient,'' says Celia.
The world's tallest hotel, JW Marriott Marquis, and The Oberoi are part of this locality, alongside a motley of restaurants and cafes, adding to the dynamism of the place.
