After a lull in the real estate market, Ajman is set to bounce back with the launch of a big ticket development Al Zorah. The freehold development along the Ajman coastline is set to have luxury hotels, retail developments, a golf course, villas and serviced apartments.
The first phase of the development located close to the Ajman Creek is likely to be completed by the end of this year. It will include two beachfront hotels and resorts offering around 300 rooms, an 18-hole golf course and marinas.
A total of 42 villas overlooking the golf course are also being released in the market. The starting price of the golf villas has been pegged at Dh4 million. Infrastructure work, including construction of the road network and other utility works for Phase 1, is currently ongoing. A highway linking the development to Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road is being built.
The largest villas of 7,449 square feet feature five bedrooms over two levels and a roof terrace. The smallest villas have four bedrooms providing 5,156 square feet of living space.
The phase two of the project commencing next year will focus on the construction of residential units and retail developments around the marina. One of the chief attractions of the project is its freehold status which ensures 100 per cent ownership of business, land, villas and apartments.
When complete, Al Zorah development will have five districts – Gateway, Beachfront, Peninsula, Creekside and Golf Community – housing around 100,000 residents.
Gateway is the entrance of Al Zorah and will feature retail facilities and high-rise towers, while the Beachfront will accommodate high-end resorts, a beach club and boardwalk, and beachfront residential serviced apartments. Peninsula, inter-connected by a network of pedestrian passages, will feature an entertainment complex, a marina, souks and a lifestyle centre. The Creekside is a residential and hotel cluster with access to the waterfront promenade, the marinas and mangrove exploration trail. The marinas are planned to berth around 200 boats. Golf Community will have homes and a golf course.
The entire project is expected to take 10 years to complete.
