Jumeirah Lakes Towers, or JLT as it is commonly referred to, is a residential-cum-commercial development comprising several towers organized into clusters and adorned with artificial lakes.
Located along the arterial Shaikh Zayed Road and opposite Dubai Marina, it is considered an ideal place for people who appreciate high-rise living.
Having lived in Deira before shifting to their penthouse in JLT three years ago, the Kothari family feels that life now is like a whiff of fresh air. The family, consisting of Rajesh, Shilpa and their three children, is quite happy with their lifestyle in JLT.
“Being a part of this locality has changed our lifestyle drastically. When we stayed in Deira, our life was limited to moving with a certain group of people who stayed in the same area. In JLT, we are part of a burgeoning cosmopolitan culture. We get to meet new people and socialize with them while taking a walk around the lake or even while visiting the parks and shops around,” Shilpa says.
She adds that she loves staying in JLT because it is well located, more peaceful and has several facilities such as parks, and restaurants and cafes surrounding the lake.
The presence of grocery stores, salons, pet stores, dining outlets, kids’ play areas, clinics and many other establishments has also made their lives easier, she explains.
“Supermarkets like Carrefour Express, Spinneys and Park N Shop increase the convenience quotient for residents. Other interesting amenities include a
Kids World Creative Learning Centre, Kcal Healthy Fast Food, Concept 1010 fitness studio and The Champion Club, a kickboxing, aerobics and personal training center. There are a couple of places in Bonnington Hotel, such as the Cavendish Restaurant and McGettigan’s, where residents can unwind and relax,” Shilpa says.
The good part of JLT is that it provides convenient living in the heart of the city. The locality is becoming better as the days pass by with more retail shops coming up.
It offers both surface and underground parking, apart from visitors’ parking, and some areas within the community experience relatively less traffic compared to other Dubai localities which face horren-dous peak-hour problems.
JLT is filled with greenery, walking and cycling pavements and jogging tracks for sports lovers. The parks and lakes add to its aesthetic appeal.
Two metro stations, Damac (formerly Dubai Marina) and Jumeirah Lakes Towers, serve the community, enhancing its connectivity to rest of the city.
As far as Rajesh is concerned, residing in JLT is very convenient as his office is located within the community itself, in Almas Tower, which is just five minutes away from home.
He adds, “My daughter Rashi studies in American University of Dubai, which is barely five minutes away from home, and my younger kids, Krishi and Moksh, study at Wellington International School which is located a ten-minute driving distance.”
Rajesh says he likes the fact that the locality is peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Dubai Marina Mall, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Ibn Battuta Mall and Palm Jumeirah, which are in close proximity to JLT, serve as the entire family’s entertainment destinations.
