It is a well-known fact that Discovery Gardens offers affordable housing options amidst a serene setting.
It provides a wide array of lifestyle conveniences, bringing in an increasing number of residents to the area. Moreover, there are plenty of lesser-known perks that the community offers which residents like Juliot Vinolia Rajarathinam can vouch for.
Juliot is a doctoral student who used to work and reside in Abu Dhabi until she heard about Discovery Gardens from friends.
“I did my research online and made a visit one evening. It was then that I decided to make Discovery Gardens my home. I requested for a transfer and moved to the Mediterranean Cluster. There has been no looking back ever since.”
Juliot works as a Clinical Dietitian and Consultant Nutritionist at Medeor 24x7 Hospital. She describes Discovery Gardens as a “true Eden; a safe, nurturing and inviting community.”
Despite the spiraling rental index, Juliot has several reasons to fall in love with the place.
“Discovery Gardens has spacious apartments and enough spacing between housing units. There are also plenty of children’s play areas, and outer spaces for parking and relaxation activities like walking, cycling and swimming,” she says.
The community is quite well maintained, with beautiful landscaping. It is away from the city traffic and pollution. Being a pet-friendly area is a big advantage for pet owners like Juliot, who owns a two-year-old Turkish Angora cat.
Juliot says she is happy that her lifestyle has taken a healthier turn and that she feels much more relaxed since her move.
“Discovery Gardens has the best environment to live in, particularly for people looking forward to a relaxed evening after a stressful day. The chirping of the birds adds a unique flavour to the beautiful mornings characterised by direct sunlight and clean, fresh air perfect for yoga.
“Excellently planned walking tracks give me the opportunity to enjoy my daily walks. The vast area gives lots of space and privacy for joggers and cyclists. Apart from the conveniences, the security fac-tor is also well taken care of. One can see security patrols at least twice a day, reassuring the residents of safety. The buildings have access control systems, CCTV cameras and 24x7 security. What else can describe a safe home?” says Juliot.
Asked about the negatives of the area, Juliot says, “I hope the developer finds an alternative solution to the foul smell emanating from the garden sprinklers which spray treated water, although I am glad that water is being recycled and is a ‘Go Green’ step.”
Another aspect that disturbs Juliot is seeing cats being killed on the road.
She says, “I encounter at least one such incident every month. I havetried contacting animalrehabilitation centres which expected me to take the animals there. I hope feline friends and animal welfare centres can do a better job in taking care of this.”
She adds, “With the buildings having almost similar architecture and colour, it can sometimes be stressful for new visitors to locate individual building numbers especially during nighttime. Things would be much more convenient if reflectors are used to indicate the building numbers.”
However, Juliot says she is one happy resident of Discovery Gardens.
