To many, pets are like family. So, if you wish to walk around with your furry friend or visit the local supermarket, restaurant or even the park, rule out the many developments and areas implementing a strict “No Pets” policy.
Although not all developments in the UAE welcome pets, there are, however, some that are very pet-friendly, even providing facilities for pet grooming and other pet care-related services.
In Dubai, the Arabian Ranches not only offers spacious villas and townhouses, it also provides plenty of spaces for pets to roam around (parks, designated walkways and around the lakes) and easy access to numerous veterinary clinics and pet shops. The Green Community at Dubai Investments Park can be another option for pet owners with its spacious apartments and villas with large gardens, and a dog park with a doggy daycare and a seven-star pet hotel of sorts. Pet owners may also choose gated communities like The Views with shaded walkways and parks that are ideal for furry friends. In addition, new Dubai hotspots The Springs, The Meadows, Discovery Gardens, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence, and some residential areas in Mirdif allow homeowners the liberty to keep pets.
In Abu Dhabi, the gated community of Al Reef Villas makes pets comfortable with its vast open spaces. Close to the Al Raha Beach, the Al Raha Gardens, which has clinics and grooming salons for pets, is yet another choice for pet owners in the capital. Likewise, Reem Island is another destination that welcomes furry friends, although some buildings have a “No Pets” policy. The Corniche area, with its wide open spaces, is also another option for pet lovers. Mangrove Village, located near a beach and with vast spaces for relaxing, gives pets as much freedom to enjoy the outdoors as their owners.
