Naif in Deira is one of the oldest commercial centres of Dubai. It is a popular destination for tourists and residents on a bargain hunt, remaining a shopper’s paradise up to this day.

The latest and modern development in Naif is the wasl district which is being built in two phases. Phase one, launched just recently, is made up of a souq that will house more than 200 shops selling perfumes, furniture, spices and a lot more, and dining establishments. Phase two will feature a hotel, offices and homes. The project aims to revitalise the area while keeping its old charm.

Despite the allure of Dubai’s massive malls, the authenticity of the emirate’s original shopping landscape is found in the lively Naif Souq. The marketplace now sports a modern design after a fire gutted the original one. It is bursting with shops spread in two levels. The shops display everything, from souvenirs and perfumes to textiles, clothes, watches, jewellery and more. The souq also includes F&B outlets, municipality offices as well as underground parking facilities.

Aside from the souqs and small retail shops, Naif is also dotted with budget-friendly dining outlets offering food in various cuisines, from Asian to Arabic to continental.

Furthermore, the streets comprising the whole Naif area are filled to the brim with all kinds of electronic shops carrying the latest models in phones and tablets.

While there are many one, two and three-star hotels within the vicinity, the area also boasts some four-star accommodation options.

Naif is well-connected to the city’s public transportation network with many buses and taxis plying the area. It can also be reached via the Dubai Metro through the Baniyas Square Metro Station.
