Green Community West: A slice of suburbia in an ever-evolving metropolis

One of Dubai’s communities that offers a true European charm is Green Community at the Dubai Investments Park (DIP), which is located along Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and close to Jebel Ali Free Zone and Al Maktoum International Airport.

True to its name, Green Community is spread across acres of lush landscape. With its success, the developer came up with another community in the investments park, the Green Community West.

The Green Community concept features townhouses, bungalows, villas and apartments. One of the major reasons for its popularity is its stunning suburban feel and mature landscaping.

Every home backs onto parks and winding walkways. Community living is enhanced by lush open spaces and beautifully decorated gardens.

Harmeet Singh and Shalini moved to the Green Community West around four years back with their two lovely kids Simran and Pranit.

Previous residents of Doha, Qatar, the family says they visited Dubai a number of times for about a year to zero in on a residential location of their choice. Their search ended at Green Community West.

Between landscaped gardens and cobbled roads stand picturesque villas. The project also includes bungalows and apartments.

“The development left an indelible first impression,” says Shalini.

She adds that it feels like a home away from home without any compromise on quality, space, comfort and tranquility. “It was a time when my son Pranit was just five years old. This community has given him a wonderful chance to be independent, where he is able to cycle and play football without being supervised as it offers full security.”

She further narrates that they picked Green Community West as they are not city people. “We love the tranquil surroundings, the lush green trees and the cobbled pathways that this place offers. As a matter of fact, every house has access to parks and walkways.”

Their villa comes with a private pool and a garden. Shalini says she is particularly fond of gardening and is happy that her home gives her ample scope to actively pursue her hobby. She tends to homegrown vegetables and flowers.

The entire neighbourhood boasts complete infrastructure, district cooling, and central satellite and TV systems backdropped by inspiring surroundings. It is quite self-sufficient with supermarkets like Choithram’s, Spinneys and Park N Shop. For kids, there are hobby classes as well.

Recreational, fitness and sports facilities include swimming pools, gymnasiums, cycling trails and volleyball, basketball and tennis courts all within easy walking distance.

There is also a shopping centre that hosts restaurants by the lake, supermarkets and beauty salons. Moreover, hotels, schools and nurseries are within the neighbourhood.

Living in a slice of suburbia sometimes inevitably comes with its share of disadvantages. Perhaps the community’s only drawback is its distance from the heart of Dubai.

“We are quite removed from the rest of Dubai. During rush hours, it becomes difficult to venture out due to traffic bottlenecks. But the area has no dearth of amenities,” Shalini reveals.

No matter, the family says they are happy residents of the area.
