Twofour54, named after the geographical coordinates of Abu Dhabi, is the media and entertainment hub for the UAE’s capital city, and develops Arabic media and entertainment content by Arabs and for Arabs. The tax-free media and entertainment free zone works on all aspects of media including television, radio, publishing, film, music, animation and gaming.
Its location is split across two campuses, with the main campus hosting the corporate offices and partner businesses at Khalifa Park complex, and the studios, production and post-production facilities on the secondary campus situated near the National Theatre.
Three sections make up twofour54, each with a different focus but all centered on media and entertainment. One is a media training academy, another is focused on industry funding and support, and the third is focused on production, post-production and broadcasting. All three are then serviced by a business service department which deals with supporting and establishing new businesses within the free zone.
Twofour54 is making some internationally recognized connections with the seventh instalment of the Fast and Furious movies filming on its premises earlier his year and post-production work carried out in its studios.
It is not only Hollywood that has shown interest in partnering with twofour54 as India’s Fox Star Studios had begun production on the Hindi film “Bang Bang,” a Bollywood film based on Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz’s film “Knight and Day.”
Of course, the biggest buzz surrounding twofour54 is that it has been chosen to be the local production partner for the new Star Wars movie directed by J.J. Abrams, and currently being filmed in Abu Dhabi.
