Home to the world's largest airport, Dubai World Central (DWC) is a state-of-the-art development strategically located in the southern part of Jebel Ali. The mega project of the Government of Dubai comprises eight districts namely the aviation, Al Maktoum International Airport, humanitarian, residential, commercial, leisure, exhibition and commercial sections.
Only 30 minutes away from city's most central locations such as malls, beaches, golf courses as well as residential areas, DWC offers a wide array of options pertaining to logistics and trade, thereby enabling seamless business operations.
Aviation is one of the key districts of DWC with Al Maktoum International Airport – the world's biggest airport – situated in the vicinity. According to the official DWC website: ''Covering 6.7 sq.km. of land adjacent to Al Maktoum International Airport, the Aviation District has been strategically envisioned as an ecosystem that meets the needs of modern-day aviation businesses. Intelligently designed, it offers businesses the unique opportunity to be part of a symbiotic hub, where all the elements required for a successful aviation industry are brought together.''
Being a free zone, companies can get a license and be registered through the entity. Dubai World Central offers two types of registrations: branch and incorporation of DWC Limited Liability Company. The latter entails the business to have a shareholder (up to five shareholders maximum), directors, a company secretary as well as a general manager.
In December 2013, it was reported that plans are underway for DWC and the developer to build an urban center and golf destination within the mega development, close to the Al Maktoum International Airport and World Expo 2020 venue.
