Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) is a free zone that targets an organization of businesses into the IT, bio-tech, telecommunications, alternative energy, electrical and electronics, engineering and related fields.
It offers a wide range of business solutions to companies that wish to set up within the free zone. These include office units in different sizes, warehouses, land, light industrial units, conference facilities and several other state-of the-art facilities and amenities.
Aside from 100% capital repatriation and foreigners’ complete ownership rights, DSO also offers a pool of brilliant human resources and management services while boasting a high-tech IT infrastructure that includes a tier three data center, advanced telecommunications systems and a fiber optic network.
The free zone also provides companies with intensive business support like technology investment incentives for huge organizations, an incubation center, venture capital funding and entrepreneurial support.
One of the attractive features within DSO is the Silicon Park which is set to be completed in 2017. It is considered the first smart city development within the free zone focusing on economy, governance, mobility, environment, life and society. The “smart” project’s massive space will contain a business hotel, commercial space, office space and a residential district plus modern facilities that include a conference center, retail units and meeting halls. Designed to be a sustainable community that incorporates green building principles into its plan, it will also feature electric vehicles as its primary mode of transportation.
DSO was also urged to support Arabic content and Islamic digital initiatives in line with the emirate’s goal of becoming the Capital of Islamic Economy. It will, thus, provide support to new firms in similar sectors through its Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre (DTEC).
DSO is close to Dubai International Airport and the business district.
