Dubai Maritime City (DMC) is located on a man-made peninsula between the Dubai Dry Docks and Port Rashid, amidst the azure waters of the Arabian Gulf.
It is a merger between the Dubai Ports Authority and DPI Terminals. It is a unique facility specifically constructed to provide full and complete solutions for all the maritime requirements in the region. The purpose-built entity is well-equipped with the right mix of commercial and industrial elements that complement each other.
DMC covers a space of millions of square meters, and it is nothing short of a world-class environment for the maritime community. This has positioned the UAE in the global maritime arena. The specialized and controlled environment fosters the growth of regional maritime companies under the same canopy, and urges them to work together towards greater development.
There are two ship lift facilities available at DMC: 6,000 tons and 3,000 tons. The vessels that can be repaired include tankers, landing crafts and bulk carriers, among many others.
DMC will oversee the development of sectors such as vessel and yacht registration, maritime services, maritime and educational research and training workshops. The Industrial Precinct is the place for repairs needed for yachts and ships. It is full of service providers with warehouses, shops, yacht manufacturing areas, offices and staff accommodation units. The precinct offers installations, and is very flexible and efficient, too.
Overall, DMC is a self-contained development that is a world of its own in the literal sense. It is the perfect destination for the maritime industry, and it allows suppliers and customers a seamless transition of transactions because everyone is speaking the same language.
