Fujairah, located in the eastern corner of the UAE bordering the Gulf of Oman, is known for its unspoiled natural mountainous beauty and pristine beaches. Since 2007, however, it has become known for something else in another sphere altogether… business.
Fujairah Creative City was launched seven years ago with an aim of providing an alternative to businessmen and artists away from Dubai Media City and its relatively higher costs. Another aim was the diversification of the economy away from tourism. It is safe to say that both aims have been successfully met.
The free trade zone specializes in media and its affiliated industries. Operating from 40,000 square meters of land area, it offers companies setting up business there end-to-end solutions. These include, but are not limited to, the issuance of licenses and work permits, processing of visas, and provision of government support services.
Businesses operating in the fields of communications, consulting, education, events, marketing, training, technology, design, music, television and broadcasting can enjoy a tax-free business environment in addition to 100% ownership of business. Facilities that are offered include a fully furnished business center with meeting rooms, fast-speed Internet, maintenance services, provision of telephone and fax lines and round-the-clock operating hours.
Clients can also choose offices that are either fully furnished in differing layouts or basic fitted offices that they can furnish according to their own requirements. Different business packages are offered according to client needs including freelancer packages, commercial packages and single owner packages.
A contributing factor in its success, especially among new businessmen in the field of media, has been its relatively low startup costs, operational costs and cost of living that the little emirate offers.
• Fujairah Creative City offers alternative to businesses in media, etc.
• Its personalized packages are catered to individual client needs
• The free zone also has the advantage of relatively low startup costs
